Driving Mobile and App Installs with Google Search
It’s official, Google announced today that App developers and marketers can drive installs via Google Search and YouTube. The features were announced earlier this year at Google’s “Step Inside Adwords” April 22nd 2014 Presentation. Search terms by users will help advertisers make targeted campaigns to drive downloads or re-engagement. An app developer such as Northcube AB could push their “Sleep Cycle” app towards search terms like “sleep app” or “app tracking sleep.”
In short, the features will allow advertisers to:
- Drive downloads
- With customized targeting, keywords, ads and other information
- Give clear insights in campaign performance and conversions (installs)
- Enable companies to re-engage with users who have stopped using their app
- Create deep linking directly from Google Search into specific pages of apps
Visibility and Engagement are two of the key components of any successful app (VESI – Visibility, Engagement, Strategy, Insights) – so we are excited to begin experimenting with this new feature set.
